G42 Puffing Billy 5 May 2004
I had a few spare moments on a recent trip to Melbourne so I headed out to Puffing Billy to see if I could see G42. I found her at Menzies Creek on the lunch train. I waited at Pinnocks Cutting to see the Garrat loping up Emerald Bank with seemingly little trouble. Then a departure shot from Emerald before heading back into town.

MRPS 1 Feb 2004
I went down to Moorooduc on Sunday 1st Feb where MRPS welcomed back K163 after 6 months or so in the workshops for a retube. Just before the first train at 11:00 a short ceremony was held to welcome 163 back, and a "Welcome Back K163" ribbon cut at Moorooduc platform.
The weather in the morning was a little wet, but it fined up nicely for the second train. The MRPS people have done a great job on 163, she looked great with fresh green paint and brass boiler bands, and running without smoke deflectors.

If you haven't been to MRPS for a while, go and take a ride - it's well worth it. Scenery, steam and friendly people - what more could you want?!
